Announcing the Top 12 Medical Start-ups of 2024 – Pitching Live at MEDICA

Munich/Düsseldorf, October 17, 2024

Out of more than 250 submissions, the most innovative medical start-ups have been selected to compete in the 13th MEDICA Start-up COMPETITION. These solutions span across AI in healthcare, health apps, robotics, and other fields, and were evaluated by an international jury based on innovation, technological feasibility, market strategy, time to market, commercial potential, and sustainability.

The Top 12 Medical Start-ups of 2024 are (in alphabetical order per category):

AI in Healthcare

  • IQONIC.AI – AI-powered solutions for dermatology enhancing skin condition analysis and personalized treatment recommendations through advanced image recognition technology (Germany)
  • Saventic Health – uses AI-based technology to support the early detection and diagnosis of rare diseases and enable healthcare professionals to make faster and more accurate diagnoses (Poland)
  • U-Care Medical Srl. – AI to improve efficiency and clinical outcomes in intensive care units (Italy)

Health apps

  • Doctorderma – Develops an App for quick diagnosis through photo analysis, which is designed to avoid long waiting times for an appointment with a dermatologist (Germany)
  • PharmaTrail AG – Digital solutions to streamline and optimize the management of clinical trials (Switzerland)
  • Vertify GmbH – Assessment of patient’s imbalance symptoms through a novel approach of assessing vertigo (Austria)

Lab Diagnostics

  • AGED Diagnostics – Accurate blood test for fatty liver disease (United States)
  • Dxcover – Innovative liquid biopsy technology for the early detection of cancer through a blood test (United Kingdom)
  • Fepod Oy Ltd. – Portable, AI-powered diagnostic devices for fast and accurate medical testing in remote or resource-limited settings. (Finland)

Robotics

  • goodBot GmbH – Pipetting robot designed to meet the needs of research labs (Germany)
  • Robeauté – Helps physicians to better cure their patients with neurosurgical microbots  (France)
  • Robota – Automized system for the sterilization and the management of surgical instruments (Italy)

The pitch and award ceremony will be held at the MEDICA INNOVATION FORUM (Hall 13) on November 12th from 15:00 to 17:00 CET. Participants will have the chance to win exciting cash prizes of up to 3,500 euros and gain exposure to MEDICA’s vast network of health tech experts, corporates, investors, business partners, and media representatives from over 170 countries.
