Patients with neurogenic bladder dysfunction suffer from missing knowledge on how full their bladder is. This missing knowledge leads to uncontrolled loss of urine and carry the risk of backflow of urine to the kidneys.
The non-invasive sensor system inContAlert digitalizes the current filling level of the bladder and sends an alert to the smartphone of the user when the level is too high. Likewise, patients or assisting persons (e.g.: in nursing homes) can track their bladder and catheterize solely when needed. They can further analyze their records to optimize their micturition management. Patients would thus be able to plan their daily lives and live with their handicap in a self-determined manner.
