Moticon developed the world’s first fully integrated and wireless consumer enabled and cost effective sensor insole, called OpenGo, for plantar pressure distribution measurement (PDM).
It can be used for patient monitoring and direct feedback to patients with respect to gait training and overload prevention. A second application field is training feedback in sports. The package is ultrathin, as thin as a normal insole, and fully flexible. The sensor insole operates in 2 modes. In live mode, it can transmit data to a mobile device in real-time. In recording mode, it stores data on an integrated flash memory. The system comprises energy management,a processing unit, including operating system, a flash memory, acceleration and pressure sensors and ANT+ radio. An intelligent firmware allows handling without any switches.
