1. HOW DID THE STORY BEGIN?
When Kristina, the CEO, visited her OB/GYN doctor for a check-up, she was shocked that his medical advice for how to track her fertility was by touching her vaginal fluids daily with her fingers. All she wanted was an accurate way to track her cycles naturally, and she believes that there needs to be a better solution for women. That’s when Kristina realized Kegg was needed. She believes fertility planning should be stress-free, affordable, and fun, and not painful and confusing like it is today.
kegg is the intuitive fertility tracker that’s assessing the most accurate sign to a woman’s fertile window: vaginal fluid. Shaped as a kegel ball smaller than an egg, kegg uses advanced sensing technology to track the electrolytes levels of cervical fluid – the golden metric to pinpointing your fertile window and possible ovulation within each menstrual cycle.
2. WHAT ARE THE KEY MILESTONES YOU HAVE REACHED SO FAR?
Our pre-seed round, our participation at TechCrunch Disrupt in 2018, and receiving the TrendForward award at CES 2019 have been rewarding milestones for us. Recently, we also got accepted into TMC Innovation’s MedTech Accelerator Program!
3. WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU HAVE OVERCOME?
Initial funding was the biggest obstacle for us. We have a huge vision — to empower women with deep fertility data and personalized help so they can conceive easily and take control of their bodies. Nevertheless, the product that we’re selling vibrates and goes inside a vagina, and this concept has been hard to swallow for many investors. Despite the pushback, we have finally found the right partners who believe in our mission and now we are in production and shipping in April 2020.
4. WHAT IS COMING NEXT?
We’re officially launching kegg nationwide in April! Right now, kegg is available for pre-order on Indiegogo for 33% off so people can take advantage of that offer before the product becomes commercially available.
