London, 18 June 2014 – The grand-total winner of the Cloud Innovation World Cup 2013/2014 has been announced yesterday in London at the official Award Ceremony during the Cloud World Forum. “Dash – drive smart”, winner in the category mobility and also awarded as Cloud Innovator of the Year, impressed the jury with its sound performance and range of its application. The connected car platform combines hardware and software that allows for significantly smarter driving.
Despite the fact that connected cars are not a novelty within the automotive industry, the New York based company Dash Labs, Inc. submitted a truly innovative advancement in the area of mobility. Their solution enables smarter driving for any car model built as of 1996 using a smartphone. Dash provides real-time feedback on fuel efficiency, diagnostics on vehicle performance, on-road conditions and driving performance.
The first Cloud Innovation World Cup, started in October 2013, was looking for innovative and promising solutions in the categories ICT Business Services, Urban Infrastructure, Smart Living, Industry 4.0, Mobility, and for the special prizes “Evolve Insurance Award” and “Geo Award”. The winners have been selected from 230 international submissions by an international jury of experts.
Category winners of the Cloud Innovation World Cup, awarded by title sponsor EuroCloud and partners Allianz Digital Accelerator and CloudEO AG are:
In the category Urban Infrastructure Venios Energy Solution (VES) by Venios. VES provides a real-time state estimation of the distribution grid that is produced within and aggregated to a cloud-based Geographic Information System (GIS).
In the category ´ICT Business Services´ the best proposal came from RingCentral, who submitted ´RingCentral Office´. RingCentral Office is a complete cloud phone system, which offers ease of use and multi-device business communications no matter where employees are working – all delivered via the cloud.
ID GUARDIAN LTD was proclaimed winner in the category ´Smart Living´. They submitted the solution titled ´Teddy the Guardian´ which features an individually designed and completely organic plush teddy bear with built-in medical sensors.
In the category ´Industry 4.0´ the winning proposal is ´Industrial Automation Services as part of the Cloud´ by InIT. It introducesa loosely coupled cloud platform which hosts different automation applications respecting requirements such as reliability and security.
The Allianz Digital Accelerators “Evolve Insurance Award” was received by MEDESK for their ´Cloud Healthcare Platform´ proposal.The solutionprovides a cloud healthcare platform that captures and securely stores patient medical data from any source or provider allowing for integrated healthcare delivery.
The special “Geo” prize is sponsored by CloudEO AG and was awarded to ´Maps BI´ by Maps BI Inc. The web-based SaaS system ties in mapping, business intelligence and community in one single platform.
